Author Website - CMS Blog & Comment System Integration
1. Client Goal / Project Overview
The client is an author who needed a full online presence to showcase his work, publish articles, and connect with readers.
I built his entire website from scratch, and he loved the initial version.
Shortly after, he requested a blog system so he could publish content regularly and increase visibility.
His main goals were:
A clean, professional author website
A full blog page powered by CMS
A functional comment system where readers could engage
A scalable structure to support many blog posts
Better online traction and visibility
This project centered heavily on CMS development.
2. Challenges & Process
a. Building a Complete CMS System From Scratch
The client had a large number of blog posts, which meant the CMS needed to be:
Well-structured
Scalable
Easy for him to update on his own
Fast and organized
Setting up this CMS was one of the most challenging parts of the project because every blog needed:
Dynamic routing
Individual page templates
Categories
Featured images
Metadata
SEO tagging
I designed everything to be smooth, intuitive, and future-proof.
b. Integrating a Comment System (Despite Framer Limitations)
Framer does not natively support blog comment sections.
Since the client wanted readers to comment under each article, I had to:
Research external services
Choose a platform that integrates well with Framer
Embed the comment functionality in a way that feels native
Ensure comments load fast and remain reliable
Maintain responsiveness and styling consistency
This was a unique challenge because it required combining multiple tools to achieve something Framer doesn’t offer by default.
c. Creating a Seamless User Experience
Even with multiple external systems, I ensured the blog flow felt natural:
Readers can open any blog post
Scroll through content easily
View related posts
Leave comments
Navigate back to the main site effortlessly
Everything had to stay clean, modern, and aligned with the author’s brand.
d. Building a Relationship That Led to Bigger Projects
The success of the first website led to something even better:
Recently, the client returned after finding a new design he loved.
He requested a complete website revamp, and he is now paying more than double, a sign of strong trust and satisfaction.
The new site we’re working on will also include expanded CMS functionality.
3. Results & Final Outcome
The author’s website became a powerful digital platform for his personal brand.
Impact achieved:
The blog system helped him gain significant online traction
Increased visibility led to noticeably higher engagement
The comment integration boosted interaction from readers
He experienced a 2–3x revenue increase, thanks to better exposure
He returned for a more premium revamp of the entire website
Our ongoing partnership reflects the high quality of work delivered
Overall, the project demonstrated strong CMS development skills, problem-solving with third-party integrations, and the ability to build scalable systems for content-heavy clients.
